Chris Thorman will discuss the remedies of attorneys’ fees to prevailing parties in employment and civil rights disputes to the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Mr. Thorman’s presentation will focus on the ways in which these fee awards can incentivize parties in litigation and settlement negotiation.

In addition to her civil rights and discrimination law practice, Lara has niche experience in immigration law and the application of civil rights statutes in the higher education context. Lara previously served as the Title IX Coordinator for Hofstra University She oversaw Hofstra's compliance with Title IX and other related federal and state laws, regulation and guidance related to gender equity. Dan Petrov presents a seminar discussion on Foundation Principles of Employment Law at the Annual Convention of the Ohio Association for Justice.  The convention is scheduled for November 6 and 7, 2014, at the Wyndham Hotel, Playhouse Square, Cleveland, Ohio.  

TPG Team Prevails at Third Circuit in Insurance Bid Rigging Case

On August 11, 2014, the Third Circuit released its Opinion affirming the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania's February 2013 denial of Coventry First, LLC's motion to dismiss or compel arbitration, in the secondary insurance market class-action case Griswold v. Coventry First, LLC, et al.  The plaintiff and the alleged plaintiff class are represented by counsel including TPG.  The case will now return to the district court to proceed with discovery and class certification.

Third Circuit Hears Oral Argument in Griswold v. Coventry First

On January 14, 2014, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral argument on Coventry's appeal of the rulings of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, which denied Coventry's motion to dismiss and to compel arbitration. TPG represents the plaintiff and proposed plaintiff class.

On February 27, 2013, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania denied a motion to dismiss or compel arbitration in the secondary insurance market class-action case Griswold v. Coventry First, LLC, et al.  TPG represents the plaintiff and the alleged plaintiff class.
