Lara Nochomovitz represents employees in a broad array of labor and employment disputes, with a focus on the preservation of civil rights and workplace justice. She has litigated race, age, gender discrimination, and retaliation claims, as well as disputes under the Family and Medical Leave Act, workers’ compensation, and wage and hour laws. She has valuable experience in the niche application of anti-discrimination laws in the higher education context, particularly relating to sexual violence and gender discrimination. She is also experienced with immigration law, having successfully petitioned for visas on behalf of individuals and represented individuals in removal defense cases.

Ms. Nochomovitz previously served as the Title IX Coordinator for Hofstra University She oversaw Hofstra's compliance with Title IX and other related federal and state laws, regulation and guidance related to gender equity. Her efforts particularly focused on prevention of and response to sexual violence and sexual harassment.

Ms. Nochomovitz graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law with a Juris Doctor cum laude in 2009. She was an Executive Articles Editor on the Journal of International Law, a member of the National Moot Court team. She completed her undergraduate education at Pomona College in 2003.

Ms. Nochomovitz is licensed to practice law in Colorado, New York and Ohio. She is accredited to represent claimants before the Veterans’ Administration. She is conversationally fluent in Spanish, and speaks basic French and Japanese. Ms. Nochomovitz currently serves as an online hotline volunteer for the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network.
